Shortly will follow the twin tug “Montenero”: the vessel is able to carry out assistance also to LNG terminals

Italian Shipyard Rosetti Marino handed over to NERI the ASDtug Livorno Antignano, the first of two twins of ASD tug RASTAR 3200W series ordered in 2015.

Built from the yard in Ravenna according to a project by Robert Allan, the Antignano is 32 meters long, 13.2 wide, is equipped with main MAN 7L27 / 38 engines of 2555 kW at 800 rpm, and two thrusters Schottel SRP 4000, and it is able to develop a fixed point Bollard Pull of 94.8 tons , thanks to two winches provided by Rolls Royce Marine Rauma, both a double drum and certified “ex-proof” for use in hazardous atmospheres.
This tug as his twin that will be delivered next April and will be nominated Montenero, is the eighth built to Blacks Brothers by Rosetti Marino, whose collaboration is widely established and has lasted over twenty years.

At the moment it is still unclear where they will go to work and then Antignano Montenero. It is not, however, rule out that they can also operate at LNG gas terminals. In fact, these tugs “services are designed to ensure high performance in terms of maneuverability and towing and escort services, and in particular are specialized in assisting the LNG terminal thanks to a gas detection system, as well as the possibility of operating in hazardous atmospheres, by means of activation of gas-tighting systems, which makes it a global prototype”.
